Really a cool little device
Our old clock that would project the time on our ceiling was such a PITA that I finally threw it in the trash. It was supposedly connected to WWV and would update the time by an hour or two at random intervals. The real problem was that it was just about impossible to program; It would always take me at least 30 minutes to do it. So I broke down and bought one of these. We only want it for the time projected on the ceiling, but it has some other pretty cool functions, like Indoor/Outdoor temperature, USB charger for a cell phone if you want to keep the phone by your bedside, two alarms, and even the weather! How does it determine the weather, you might ask? It monitors the barometric pressure and when it starts to fall, it displays “cloudy”, “rainy”, “heavy rain”, and even “snow” (based on the outside temperature, I presume). When the baro is high, it displays “sunny” (saves me from looking out the window). It comes with a battery-powered outside temp sensor that pairs with the main unit. It has a frost alarm. It has a Memory function for indoor and outdoor temperature. It’s AC powered but has battery backup. Oh yeah you can switch colors on the main display, but I haven’t messed with that. All in all, it’s pretty cool.

Nice large display
I love this projection clock. I’ve had a projection clock for over 15 years & stuck with the same brand until now. This clock is much easier to manually set (if lose the signal) and for the alarms. The display is larger & clearer to read both on the clock and the projected image. I can also see the date & day of the week from across the room on the display. Love the weather feature too. Great price, great alarm clock.

Good projector clock with great Customer Support
I ordered this projector clock to replace a different model I had for nearly a decade when the outside sensor fell and got water soaked.When the product first arrived and I went through the clear step by step process to set it up, I noticed the projection on the ceiling was missing pixels and failed to display the temperatures correctly if at all. In the included instruction manual they suggested that if this was an issue to reach out to their Customer Service via a phone number and an email address. I did both and sent a photo of the projection issue in the email. Within hours I got a reply telling me they would replace the device. I asked if they would be sure to test it before shipping to make sure it was operational as expected. They said they would and a day or so later I got confirmation the shipment was on its way.It came sooner than expected, and installed and displayed the projection perfectly. Very impressed.The only two items I wish this device had was a time sync to the radio time clock my old device had to keep the time accurate throughout the year…. and the ability to rotate the projection display in 90 degree adjustments rather than just 180 degree adjustment. Otherwise I’d give this a 5 Star instead of a 4. But the display is bright and switches the temperature display between indoor & outdoor while still showing current time… while my older device only projected time and outdoor temp.Thanks again to Smartro’s Customer Service, Janice in particular…. 5 Stars for Customer Service.

Works great
Love this clock. It was a little tricky getting the outside temp gauge sync up. I had to play with it a bit. But once it was set, I just placed in a window on the outside, between the screen and it picks up the temp perfect. It is so nice being able to open my eyes while sleeping and see the time and temps without having to raise up from my position. If it dies, I will definitely be replacing it, because I have become so used to it. Works great – would recommend this clock to anyone. Hope this review helps.

Easy to set up
As the headline indicates, this clock is comparatively easy to set up (compared to the LaCrosse clock it replaced). It has a mode button that cycles through each function which is set using plus and minus buttons – pretty much the standard setup for digital devices. The outside temperature remote sensor pairs with the clock reasonably quickly (again in comparison with the LaCrosse). The brightness is, in my opinion, just fine – while at full brightness it would be too bright for most people, it can be toned down by choosing a dimmer setting. A minus as referenced in other reviews is the inability to rotate the ceiling display in 90 degree increments. When the clock is on a bedside stand with its display facing the bed, the ceiling display can only be viewed end on! Since my main purpose in having this clock was the ceiling display, I solved this problem by putting the clock on a table across the room with the display facing the foot of the bed. This way it works just fine. One other caveat for potential purchasers – this is NOT an “atomic” clock. No claim is made that it is an atomic clock but, since many ceiling projection clocks are some might make this assumption. For me this is not a problem but be advised if that is important to you. My bottom line is that this clock is well made and functional and, if the ceiling projection rotation issue and lack of atomic feature is unimportant to you, I recommend it.

Great projection clock, but inaccurate outdoor sensor
Bought this projector clock to replace an older LaCrosse one that stopped working (you realize just how useful projection clocks are when you’ve had one, and then you don’t!). I like that the time dominates the display and you don’t have to hunt amongst a sea of numbers like some of the weather station clocks. The changing colors and multi-step illumination is a nice feature to tune how bright it is in a dark room. The overall size if great for a bedside, and the build quality is good. Projection is clear and easy to read, although doesn’t have adjustable brightness. All round, a worthy replacement that I would highly recommend.BUT … my biggest reason for not giving 5-stars is the significant discrepancy in temperature reading between the indoor and outdoor sensors. When both are placed beside each other and left to settle, the outdoor one always reads at least 2-3F lower than the indoor sensor in the clock. The clock is correct since it reads about the same as other thermometers places beside it. This makes the outdoor sensor all but useless.

The small clock has many features including the option of a multi colour display. It has a bright projection display that shows internal/external temperature and time, and is super easy to set up with the remote external temp sensor. Itâs small footprint takes up little space on the bedside table. The bright display transforms the ceiling into an informative and unobtrusive information focus.

Beware things bought on Amazon.com.au, even from a place called “The Big Australia Store”, that have no Australian reviews. Mine arrived with a US power plug. It looks like the adaptor does take 240V/50Hz, so I think I only need to buy a plug adapter. But very annoying.
