Issues cutting
When I bought these lights the descriptions and details did not specify that the lights needed to be attached to a device or switch to work. I bought these because the description said they could be cut. So, I cut the first strip that I needed then I was left with a large roll of lights that now don’t work. I didn’t know how the lights worked and the instructions in the box did not make it clear that once you cut the lights, the remaining lights are essentially useless (maybe you can splice it together with another switch if you know how to do all of that, but I don’t so this was a wasted purchase!).**UPDATE** the seller offered me a full refund and assistance on how to use the strip of lights I cut you do have to buy four pin connectors in the adapter box/cords for cutting to work. They were truly great to work with. They still work, but make sure you cut on the three gold lines!

Burnt Adapter
I purchased these lights in December and by May they stopped working. Upon investigation, the power adapter is totally fried and smells burnt. This power adapter is NOT rated to handle 65.6ft of LED lights. It may have worked with one reel (32.8ft), but the addition of another reel far exceeds the power rating of this adapter. No wonder there are so many complaints of inoperable lights.

They work but leave a lot to be desired
For the price, these are fine. They turn on, they change color, they stick to the wall. They work with Google voice (and I assume they would work with Alexa though I haven’t tried). If you just want them as a novelty and are willing to deal with some annoying things so that you can have cool lights, then these would be perfect for you. However, they leave a lot to be desired. The main problem is the default seems to be red. So if it disconnects from wifi, or if the power gets cut, or if it stops detecting music when it’s in music mode, then it’s solid red. When it’s connecting, it’s blinking red. It would be so much better if the default was white. Then I wouldn’t care so much if it was connected or not, because I’d just leave it on white. But the red is annoying. I have my lights connected to a light switch, so when I turn off the switch, it cuts power to them, and they often are red when I turn them on again. If my lights are on any of the pre-set patterns or music mode, then if I turn them off and back on, they’re red. They only retain the color they were when they got turned off if you use the remote. Which leads to the next problem. The remote sucks. I don’t ever want to use it. It’s hard to push the buttons, the colors aren’t accurate, there’s a delay, and you have to be pretty close to the receiver. I prefer to use the app or voice control through Google home, but the remote would be more useful than either of those if it worked better. Also, it has preset options that you can’t change. So you can hit “flash” and it will flash red, then if you hit it more times it will change the color that flashes, but you can’t change the pattern or speed of the flashing and you always have to go in the same order starting with red to get to the color you want. It’s not worth using the remote so I just make “scenes” in the app and use the app instead. The app is cool but I’m not going to connect all my other smart devices to it, so it ends up being an app that I have to have on my phone just for these lights. There are indeed a LOT of color options, but it’s not that easy to pick the exact color you want. You have to move your finger around and hope it lands where you wanted it, and it’s particularly hard to get any orange or yellow tones. You can get the color you want if you’re patient and keep trying, but it’s not super easy and what shows on the phone screen doesn’t match what the actual lights look like. Finally, music mode is cool but it sucks. The lights change but not necessarily in time with the music. Often in the middle of songs and between songs, the app stops detecting music and the lights just stay stuck on red until you go back into the app and restart it. And you can only access music mode through the app- not the remote or voice control.So, to recap, it’s a good novelty- impress your friends and have fun with it for a few days, but it’ll probably be not worth it and annoying after a couple weeks.

Good, but could be better
They work pretty well. The lights are bright and vibrant, and the remote works fine. The adhesive could be better, it tends to fall off and I have to stick it back on. Some of the lights have died, resulting in different colors in certain areas.
