Customers say
Customers have negative opinions about the functionality and ease of setup of the clock. They mention that the atomic clock feature never works, the updates don’t work at locations where they did for other similar devices, and the unit doesn’t maintain the time during a very brief power bump. Opinions differ on the brightness.

Very good clock
Nothing like laying on your back in the middle of the night and looking at the ceiling to find out what time it is

Bad design, bad documentation, doesnât capture atomic time, doesnât recover after a power bump
Example: Shortly before 8 a.m. today I was awakened when the unit beeped and the display went from dim to bright and showed the time-date as 12:01 am Jan 1. (This time-date appears to be the default.) Then the display disappeared for 7 minutes while the unit tried unsuccessfully to acquire the atomic time signal. Then the bright display reappeared showing the accurate time for the default display (12:10 a.m. in this case). An hour later the same thing as the screen went blank for 7 minutes. And another hour later the same thing. As of 6 pm today the unit had not displayed the correct time. Then I tried a manual reset, which was not successful. The instructions state the display will go blank for up to 7 minutes. In other words, if the unit is working as designed, you cannot see the display for 7 minutes. If you donât capture the time you can keep trying the manual procedure forever. In fairness, we determined we had a power bump shortly before 8 am, which probably triggered the morning incident. If that is the case, the unit did not maintain the time during a very brief power bump and never recovered. Note: I have two other AC-powered radio-controlled clocks and both were showing the correct time all day. I unplugged one in an outbuilding and carried it to my bedroom and it maintained the correct time while it was unplugged and when I plugged it in.When I received this product, my first problem was trying to figure out how to capture the atomic time signal. All four of my other radio-controlled clocks capture the time automatically. If this unit does, that is not stated in the manual. It may be automatic, because I have no idea how the unit started displaying the correct time.I emailed customer service as instructed in the manual. I got a reasonably prompt response, but the response did not answer all of my questions and did not clearly explain the procedure for capturing the atomic time. The email included a video that repeated the manual but with added video. The video added no new information.

Very light weight and quite tipsy
We like this clock and ceiling display but … it is very light weight, skinny and stands on a narrow edge. It constantly is getting tipped over and some times falls off the night stand. After the last tip over the display light will not work. This clock needs weight in the bottom or a two sided stick tape to keep it upright and in place. We are now looking for a better more stable and durable clock to replace this broken one. It lasted about two months.

DST doesn’t seem to work, but everything else is awesome
DST doesn’t seem to work; indicator says it is on, but the time did not change this weekend. Ended up turning it off and setting the time manually, which was easy to do. Everything else seems to be working great. Had to try all 3 channels to get the outdoor sensor to work, but channel 2 eventually did the trick

Would not recommend
I’ve had this thing for awhile and found it to be very annoying to use. Annoying enough, I finally replaced it after the last power outage. And that would be my first complaint. It would forgot the time and settings after even a short power loss. Even weirder, it has a battery. The battery has power. I have no idea what the battery does. But ever time there is a power loss, I needed to reset the clock.Which brings me to the configuration. I found the programming method to be one of the least intuitive devices I’ve used. There was always a lot of trial an error every time I needed to reset the thing. I was also generally unable to test the auto-radio clock setting. It would usually set itself okay at 2-3AM in the morning. But if I tried to do it during the day, it would fail. This may because of noise in the environment and not really a fault with the device. But it meant that the method of checking whether I set the thing correctly was whether or not I woke up at the right time the next day. Let’s just say, I didn’t like that method. And my favorite, because I found it the funniest and most frequently annoying. The top bottom, a capacitive button I believe, worked sometimes. This button changed the brightness on the screen. Changing the brightness was always really annoying. Funny though, because it was also the snooze button. I don’t use the snooze button. But if I did, this thing would have died in week: thrown against a wall, beaten with a hammer, tossed out a window, jumped up and down on while screaming, I’m not really sure how, but it would have been replaced much sooner.

Completely useless – TERRIBLE product!
I purchased this clock so it would adjust the time automatically when daylight savings time starts/ends (that’s kind of the purpose of an atomic clock). Not only does the clock not reset to the atomic time after a time change, but every single hour, it stops working/displaying the time for approx. 7 minutes while the “signal is being received.” When I reported this issue, the company told me because I’m not near the state of Colorado (not sure what that has to do with anything), it might take “a few days” for the time to adjust. I have had no problems like this with any other atomic clock. The vendor also suggested I could “manually” set the time, since the atomic reset is not working. (What’s the point of getting an atomic clock, then???) I’ll just say… This is NOT an atomic clock. I can’t even set the time zone. The vendor has been completely unsupportive and now I’m stuck with a defective clock because no time change occurred within the return window. HORRIBLE product, and horrible company. Save your money. There ARE atomic clocks that actually work — but this one’s NOT IT.

I like everything about it except a fuzziness in the light
