Wake up to your weather. Accurate atomic time & date featuring projection onto your ceiling or wall with arm rotation and automatic focus. View your outdoor temperature and/or alternating time along with alarm features and display of indoor temperature (F/C). Has LCD backlight and includes ac adapter and wireless outdoor temperature sensor that transmits within 300 ft. First, use name-brand alkaline batteries dated at least 7 years in advance. Test the battery voltage to ensure it is at least 1.48 on a voltmeter that reads in numbers Second, Outdoor Temperature Shows Dashes and not syncing A: Dashes means you have lost connection between the display and the outdoor sensor. Batteries are the most common problem. A: Check channels. You may be reading your sensor on a different channel. A: Please confirm that the frequency on the sensor and the frequency on the display are the same. This display is sold with a 433MHz version A: Distance/Resistance can cause loss of sensor signal. Avoid having more than 1 wall, window, tree etc., between the display and the sensor. UV coated windows may actually reflect the signal. Stucco walls will absorb the signal. A: You may find it helpful to orient the Display 90 degrees towards the Thermo sensor for better reception. A: Try repositioning your sensor or your display for better reception. A: Complete a restart for display with the temperature sensor: • RESTART DISTANCE: For best results please bring the outdoor sensor in the house and place 5 feet from the display unit. • REMOVE POWER: Remove batteries from the sensor and batteries (and/or a/c cord) from the display. • DISCHARGEELECTRICITY: With the power removed, press one of the buttons on the display at least 20 times to clear all memory. Please do this even if the display is blank to remove any random electricity. Verify the display is blank. • UNPOWERED FOR 15 MINUTES: It is important with most of our displays to remain without power for at least 15 minutes. • NOTE: Failure to allow a display to rest for 15 minutes can result in failure to connect with the outdoor sensor or missing segment on the display. The instruction manual describes a setup for a new unit that has not had time to build up residual electricity. • BATTERIES: Please be sure you are using fresh batteries testing to a minimum of1.48, on a voltmeter that reads in numbers. • SENSOR FIRST: Place batteries into the outdoor sensor first. Make sure they are installed according to the diagrams in the battery compartment. • DISPLAY NEXT: Install batteries (or a/c cord) into the display according to the diagram in the battery compartment. CONNECTION: Allow the sensor and display to remain 5 feet apart for 15 minutes to establish a strong connection. Do not press buttons at this time. You should see a reading on the outdoor temperature area in the first minute. Transmission range: Up to 200 Feet. Sensor: 2.5 L x 1.42 W x 3.98 H Inches

Customers say
Customers like the accuracy of the clock. For example, they say the remote sensing for outside temperature is accurate and the clock clearly projects the time and outside temperature, in large red characters. That said, opinions are mixed on connectivity, performance, brightness, display, ease of setup, and projection.

Revised UPDATED Review – I take it all back! This clock is awesome!
I originally rated this clock 3 stars, but I’ve had it for a little over 5 yrs now and only recently needed to replace it with a new clock due to the backlight becoming sketchy (it still works, but who knows how long that’ll last). Over those 5 yrs, I only had to replace the outdoor sensor ONCE (it was $10 here on Amazon), and I’ve never bothered to do anything extra to protect it from the elements other than position it under a couple inches of roof overhang.Anyways, I originally rated this clock 3 stars because it used to bother me that the set up on this clock took more than 1 minute and it annoyed me that it runs a little fast because I don’t use the radio signal (often it ends up being 20 minutes faster after a year). I’ve decided I no longer care, plus, this is not something you need to worry about unless you’re not using the radio signal (and even then it could just be my clock.Buying (and subsequently having to return) 3 different projecting clocks here on amazon (2 of them considerably more expensive than this one) completely changed my view of this clock. NONE of them compare to this one! They all made me realize how much better designed this clock is.For reference, I tried a cheaper La Crosse projection clock (similar model to this one but it’s not even comparable since since its backlight is stupidly MANUAL), La Crosse’s newer WiFi projection clock, and Ambient Weather’s RC-8401 clock (it changes colors with the outside temp and has a forecasting barometer).ALL of these clocks are “atomic” (radio controlled) and have a lengthy set up process that requires you to go through the time, date, hour, time zone etc any time you want to set it, but I like how the buttons of this clock are at the top (i like the size too, cause it’s just easier to handle while setting). It’s also way less of a hassle to dim the screen, cause you just press the snooze button on top (you don’t realize how convenient this is until you get a clock that doesn’t have it!).Also, notice the angled design on this clock. None of those other clocks are angled and I’ve discovered that it’s really annoying when it’s not! It makes it way easier to see the screen from any angle (even all the way across the room I can see the outside temp), and there is no glare. The screen is also set up SO MUCH BETTER not only due to the fact that it only shows you the relevant information (time, date, outside/inside temp), but due to the way the information is DISPLAYED.Notice how the time is the biggest thing on this clock? This is important. For whatever reason, many of the projection clocks being sold on here don’t display the time prominently if they have any kind of weather features. Most of them stupidly show the temperature and “weather” stats larger than the actual time! You won’t realize how annoying this is until you get a clock with a display like that. It really made me appreciate the simple screen of this clock (again, I can see the time and outside temp easily, from anywhere in the room). There are no stupid pictures of clouds, no useless moon phase, or indoor humidity. The Ambient clock had a barometer that was supposed to forecast weather but I found that feature to be largely overhyped and useless; it drove me crazy to see its irrelevant “forecast” taking up so much of the screen. Similarly, if you can’t hook up La Crosse’s wifi clock to the internet (and many people find they can’t) you are left with barely any relevant information because it doesn’t come with an outdoor sensor (you have to pay $26 extra for that). Instead, you are left with a bunch of useless icons displaying irrelevant info to fill in the blank spots like the moon phase or indoor the humidity level (and whether the humidity is “ok,” as if you care what your clock thinks of the humidity in your room).TL;DR: Even in 2020 this clock is still better designed than most of the projection clocks being sold on here. I will gladly take it over any of them.

follow intructions and allow time for the system to sync
I would give more stars if possible… I especially like that it auto sets the correct time, and auto adjusts for daylight savings time. I like the brightness of the projection, bright even when the clock is set to dim for nighttime sleeping. can set the projection to the wall or ceiling. side sleepers may find the wall projection to work best but either is large and bright so easy to read. When if first received the set, the temperature sensor reading was flakey and I had to reset it very often until i finally it failed to reconnect. I contacted LaCrosse and explained what was happening. I expected the runaround one usually gets when you’ve used the system almost a year. With no discussion, the CSR said she was sending me a replacement sensor and no need to return the original sensor if the replacement solved the problem: here is my email back after receiving the replacment:Dear Amber, Thank you for your perfect handling of my issue. The new replacement sensor was received as described and has been installed these last three days and nights. It worked flawlessly, installed and connected quickly and hasn’t had any issues. As you recall, the original sensor had an ongoing issue with disconnecting frequently, even when it was within 5 feet of the display. I had spent several months trying to find out if the issue was the sensor or the display before contacting your company and you allowed that it was probably a defective sensor. It appears you were correct and I’m a happy camper and in fact will probably order another unit for my RV. I am super happy with your company and will write a 5 star rating about your customer service on Amazon and you may use this message as another example of your exception customer service.

Great LCD alarm clock with just a few caveats
This radio is exactly what I needed with a few caveats which is why I gave it four instead of five stars. The good:It’s fairly small and doesn’t hog your night table for real estate. The digits are big enough to see even with blurry groggy middle of the night vision. The internal and external temperature are a nice touch.Having the date right there on the display all the time is also a nice touch.Color choices to break up the display are all good choices and helps you easily focus on whatever you care about. Usually that’s just the time so the big white digits again are a good choice. It’s pretty easy to set up.The charging port is really handy and saves having to have a phone charger near your bed if you charge your phone when you go to bed like me.The projector is handy and a nice touch. It’s bright enough to see against a white ceiling at night. You can’t see the projected time during the day but why would you want to? It’s just the right brightness to be able to be seen clearly without being annoying. The really good:The display can be set so it dims down really low. There is nothing more annoying than a ridiculously bright alarm clock at night. Even with the clock facing you it’s not bothersome like some backlit LCD clocks. By far this is THE BEST implementation I’ve ever seen.Time signal sync is nice – no more setting the time, although there is a caveat (see below). The bad:It would be nice to have an aux port or bluetooth with an amplified speaker. I usually listen to my phone at night instead of the radio or something else so a beefier speaker than my phone’s built-in speaker would have been nice. I would have even paid extra for that but I couldn’t find one that had that, that wasn’t beyond what I was willing to spend and the clock part was more important to me.The controls make no sense while it’s trying to sync to the time signal. It would have been better to just lock out everything entirely. This caused much confusion until I realized nothing worked right until it was done syncing. The instructions elude to this but the first time I tried it the sync took so long I thought something was wrong. When I started pressing buttons nothing worked like it should. You have to wait for the time sync icon to stop flashing first. The time signal sync is a bit flaky. When I first received the clock I tried it in the living room and it wouldn’t sync. I tried it in the kitchen. Same thing. It works in my bedroom that is all that really matters but I’m guessing I just got lucky. Some sort of auxiliary antenna for those getting a weak signal would have been a nice touch. The display doesn’t have a very wide viewing angle. At sharper angles the display just looks like random segments.

My previous ceiling projection alarm clock died after 20 years. This alarm clock works better than the original, a larger LED display is easy to read in the dark, has two light levels so it is not too bright at night . The ceiling projection feature is something I mist have and it works very well. The display is easy to read, even on a textured ceiling. The clock is kept accurate by the radio frequency time signal from WWV and it self adjusts each midnight. The initial set up takes only a few minutes. I am very happy with the product

Good compact product but the ceiling projection very poor, specially during the day when it is not visible. Unfortunately the projection has now completely stopped and and can view the time only the front display.

Received the product today and I’m impressed with the built quality and size & clarity of coloured letters/numbers is just amazing which is more easier to eye to read the information. Easy to set-up and user friendly. I highly recommend this product for home or offices.

I love the bright colourful display. My last clock couldn’t be read in the dark. You can see all the features easily. I love the projection options of temperature and time or just time. And the 4 rotations means you can point the projection anywhere. Super easy to set up. Once I put everything in place, the outside temp displayed right away. Setting up the time and date were easy too–just followed the directions. The clock base is wide enough that it doesn’t tip over. The last clock I had by a different mfr did tip over. Highly recommend.
