Wife loves it
We got to use one of these at a hotel we stayed in and my wife really liked it. She felt that it was easier to wake up with this alarm clock. The slow color changing light is great and gets bright. There are multiple alarm sounds but my wife is partial to the birds chirping. This model has the app connected to it and honestly I havenât had any issues with it. It makes it quick and easy to set the alarm time, change the color of the light, etc. It connected to our WiFi network without any issues and connects through the app quickly. I donât really use the other features in the app but the main things work well. Highly recommended!

Nice but could be better
I have had this alarm for a couple of weeks now, and there are many things to like about it. There are also some things to like less. In general, design clearly took primacy here; I wish they had actually had people using this before market release. Obviously, this is also an almost outrageously expensive alarm clock, so if some of the negatives would affect you greatly, it’s probably not worth it. As is, I’m keeping it.The good things: I’m not going to repeat what everyone has said already, only the ones that matter to me and that were improvements compared to my previous alarm clock.- it’s handy to have an alarm clock and a bedside lamp in one (but see also below in the “Not so good” column). Spares some space. The main light is actually pretty strong; you can definitely read by it.- I use the FM alarm. The sound comes on gradually, and is relatively good quality. It also shuts off after an hour (which of course even my 20 yr old radio clock did, but just in case you were wondering).- Both the sunset and the sunrise programs are great and very customizable. I never thought I’d use the sunset program, but I do and it does help me fall asleep faster. And, having the light on by the time your alarm goes off is just nice. (The light shuts off together with the radio, after an hour.)- I found the menu relatively user-friendly, although see below about the lack of physical buttons.- The light of the digits is good — it doesn’t shine in your eyes at night but you can still see it (you can adjust the strength or shut it off completely). The not so good:- Most importantly, it would be *great* to have a physical button for the main light. As it is, you have to press two touch buttons to get to it, which takes a while, and more importantly, you have to actually look at the screen. You don’t always want to look at the screen (or anything) when turning on your bedside lamp.- Speaking of physical buttons, I can imagine that it would also be nice to have one for the snooze button. I never use that, so can’t really comment.- My almost 10-yr old phone-charging alarm clock already had a calendar feature, i.e., you could program different weekday and weekend wakeup times. It really doesn’t seem like such a big deal, surprising that it’s missing. It’s a really useful feature. The same almost 10-yr old alarm clock also synchronized time automatically with my phone when charging, which is also useful.- Minor point: the sunset program is not *completely* gradual in terms of the sound fade-off. There are clearly audible “steps” (if you are sensitive to these kinds of things).Overall, it is clearly a nice clock, although I would say a bit too expensive considering the lack of attention to some details. It will be almost certainly an upgrade after most alarm clocks, so if that’s what you need, I’d go for it.

I have to be honest I’ve never really tried any other versions of this type of clock/alarm but I decided to buy this one because I liked how you can customize the sunset colors and I liked the shape of it. I was a bit surprised at how expensive it is but honestly I’m really impressed! I have always struggled with alarm clocks and have never found that they work for me. From the very first time i used this alarm clock it woke me up so easily and I found myself waking up a few minutes before it would go off which is unheard for me. I love the nature sounds and also how you can have a traditional buzzer style alarm go off too just in case you are worried about getting up for something really important as a backup which is a great feature. The brightness goes high enough to use it as a night light if you want as well. I highly recommend this clock! The only downfall is the speaker isn’t that great but it’s not the reason you would buy this type of clock anyways but something to keep in mind. Oh and it was really simple to set up too!

This is my 4th Philips wake-up light. I’ve used and loved that system for two decades. And this one… it feels like a downgrade.I was charmed by the promises on paper of the wifi connectivity… It turns out that they got rid of all the conveniences and replaced them by app function. As other have mentioned before; the app isn’t even available in my country! (Singapore). Had to manually source and install the APK. Risky; inconvenient. It’s also coming with a foreign plug; US ( or China) when I need UK.. I bought it on Amazon.sg this should not happen without a warning. What I miss the most: Snooze by gentle tap on the bedside table.. why on earth would you remove such a great feature??And of course all of the buttons.. there are only two left.. it’s highly unpractical. Needs a few clicks to turn the light on, turn the radio on.. even more clicks to turn them off.Haven’t even figured out how to choose an alarm on the lamp itself; could only do it via the app. This lamp apparently decides that it should turn itself off before changing mode.. that is, turn the light off with the alarm; turn off completely before turning back on for the on.. “sunset” function.. that’s plain stupid for a lamp!Sleep tracking is completely manual.. quite inconvenient..Recording of humidity/noise/temperature/light during the night doesn’t happen (unless, I guess, you manually activate the sleep tracking.. annoying).Oh and it auto-updates.. of course it switch itself off completely to do so, without prompt or anything, for a good 15-20 minutesGreat for when you want to go to bed.
